Is Community Services West Career Academy High School an Alternative High School?

No, CSWCA is a member of the Chicago Public Schools through the Renaissance 2010 Program.


What are the requirements to enroll in CSWCA High School?

Students must be between the ages of 16 and 21 and have earned at least 10 high school credits towards their Chicago Public School Diploma.


What are the requirements to graduate from CSWCA High School?

Students that attend CSW Career Academy High School are held to the same academic minimums of all Chicago Public High School students.


  • 4 - Years English
  • 3 - Years Math
  • 3 - Years Science
  • 3 - Years Social Studies/Science
  • 2 - Years Foreign Language (Online Courses)
  • 2 - Years Physical Education
  • 1 - Year Music
  • 1 - Year Art
  • 5 - Elective Credits
  • 40 - Service Hours

 

When I graduate, will I receive a regular high school diploma?

Yes, upon completion of all requirements, students are awarded the high school diploma issued through Chicago Public Schools.


What does the culinary program consist of?

The culinary program is a dual-enrollment program with Washburne Culinary Institute at Kennedy King College. Students selected to participate in the program can earn up to 13 college credits. All courses are taught here at CSW Career Academy High School.


Does the school offer an internship program upon completion of the culinary program?

Upon completion of the culinary program, school staff assist student in finding internships in the hospitality industry. Many of our students have been placed with the Lincoln Park Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, Pot Belly, Soldier Field, Sikiya, and Gallery 37.
